Żucie obrazów może sprawić, że przykleją się one do oka, albo przykleją się do ściany. Jest to czynność kompulsywna: pogrąża żującego w zalewie wrażeń zmysłowych, które zostają przełożone na struktury mowy.

To też miejsce interesujące mnie w obrazie przede wszystkim: styk płaszczyzn wzroku i języka. A tam, gdzie się łączą ich tkanki: osmoza. Obraz indukuje słowa. Ma z nimi wspólny mianownik, ani za szeroki, ani za wąski. Taki by jego malarskość była stabilna i zarazem nie zasłaniała wynikających zeń opisów. W efekcie, by mówiący o obrazie język przysłaniał go. Hybryda, gdzie słowa stają się bezpośrednie jak obraz.

I tak, by tagi: cień, czerwony, dynamika, esy floresy, fiolet, kolor zero, kosmos, płynność, zimny, zmysłowy, Wenus, seledyn, syntetyczny nabrały dodatkowej realności, biorącej się z fizyczności i realności obrazu, o którym mówią. Trochę podobnie, jak w relacji między pracą, a tytułem, lecz na bardziej podstawowym poziomie: słowa w prozaicznej funkcji (tylko jako słowa) i obdarzone prostą cechą. Dotykalnością.

 

Chewing gum for the eyes

 

Chewing the paintings may cause that they will stick to the eye, or stick to the wall. It is a compulsive behavior: the one chewing is flooded with sensations, which are translated onto the structures of speech.

It is a space which interests me the most in the painting: the point of contact of the visual and linguistic surfaces. And there, where their tissues meet: osmosis.  The picture induces the words. It shares a common denominator with them, neither too wide, nor too narrow. Just so its painterliness would be stable, and at the same time it won’t veil the words that speak of it. In effect, so that the language telling about the picture would cover it. A hybrid where words become as direct as painting.

And so, that the tags: shadow, red, dynamics, convoluted, purple, color zero, cosmos, liquidity, cold, sensual, Venus, celadon, synthetic would gain additional realness, deriving from  the physicality and realness of the painting they point to. Similar like in the relation between work and title, but on a more basic level: words in the matter-of-fact use (just as words), and endowed with a simple quality. Tangibility.
