Kolega nakierował mnie podczas rozmowy na rzecz pozostającą na skraju widoczności. Wyszła ona z tła na przykładzie krzesła, które przez dłuższy czas używałem, a potem w przypływie emocji roztrzaskałem o ścianę. Następnie, jakby pragnąc się zrehabilitować wobec materii, która nagle przestała pełnić funkcję użytkową, postanowiłem ukryć swój ślad w krześle, nicując je. Efektem tej stolarki stał się kub, wynicowane krzesło wpisane w formę prostopadłościanu. Drewno, ze stanu użyteczności fizycznej przeszło do stanu użyteczności estetycznej, emocjonalnej i intelektualnej.

Następną pracą stolarską było zrobienie pudła do transportu i przechowywania pracy. W jakiś sposób, to opakowywanie pracy, stało się przedłużeniem robienia obiektu. Nie w sensie wytwarzania kolejnej  lub tej samej pracy dalej, czy też gestu artystycznego, lecz zwyczajnie po ludzku, że najpierw ciąłem i zbijałem deski tak by zrobić kub, a potem ciąłem i zbijałem deski by go opakować. Taka bezpośredniość wytwarzającej sens i banalnej jednocześnie czynności, która w tej perspektywie odświeża.

 

Packaging

Mate directed me during a convo, on the thing that stayed on a fringe of visibility. Its surfacing was exemplified by a chair, that I used for a long time, and then, in a burst of emotions, I have smashed against the wall. Next, as if wanting to make up for to the matter, which suddenly have lost its usefulness, I decided to hide my presence in this chair, by turning it inside out. The effect of the woodcraft was a cube,  chair turned inside out inscribed in a cuboid form. The wood, from a state of physical usefulness passed to a state of usefulness in esthetic, emotional and intellectual way.

Next woodwork was preparing a box, for safekeeping and transportation of the work. In some way, this packaging of the object, became an extension of the work-making process. Not in a sense of producing another or the same artwork, or an artistic gesture, but ordinarily and simply, that first I cut and nailed wooden boards, so as to make the cube, and next I cut and nailed wooden boards to box it. A directness of meaning generating, and at the same time trivial activity, which in this way becomes refreshing.
